Academics

BG/BRG Klosterneuburg offers an academic, well-rounded general education to local pupils aged 10 to 18. Tuition at our school fulfils all the requirements of the Austrian national curriculum and leads to the Austrian school-leaving certificate (AHS Matura).

There are eight years of tuition.

All pupils follow the same curriculum in Years 1 and 2.

In the third year, pupils choose one of two curriculum pathways:

Humanities and language focus (Gymnasium)

Science and technology focus (Realgymnasium)

From year 6 to 8  6 hours of electable compulsory subjects

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB Class)

At the end of their fourth year, pupils who have attended our International Class in the lower school and are thus functionally bilingual may be selected to join our International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in the Upper School. Pupils in this class are prepared for the International Baccalaureate Diploma examination and may, in addition, complete Austrian school matriculation (AHS Matura).
